AI: evolution or disruption?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an evolution of technological progress in many fields such as healthcare, where AI solutions have contributed to improved patient care for several decades. AI will continue to enhance efficiency, automate tasks and enable continued innovation in healthcare, finance and manufacturing. More recently, the emergence of generative AI solutions has disrupted traditional paradigms, transforming the nature of work for many professions, and raising ethical concerns. AI's dual role as catalyst for progress and disruptor of norms triggers discussions about ethics, safety, equitability and accountability. In this talk we will examine the trajectory of AI over the last 50 years including its most recent rapid developments.
