How innovative technologies personalize treatments in reconstructive dentistry
Digital technologies have been implemented in dentistry since years and consequently substantially changed the way patients are being treated. In reconstructive dentistry, this encompasses CBCTs, scans, virtual planning, guided surgery and CAD/CAM technologies for the fabrication of restorations. Current research focusses on a more advanced refinement to personalize patient treatment and to minimize costs and invasiveness thereby reducing a potential over-treatment. Similarly, treatment strategies were developed to account for the individual skills and expertise of the clinician thereby reducing their stress levels in daily practice.
